Southland Church
Southland Church is the largest church building in rural Manitoba and possibly the entire province. The current building covers 141,100 sq. ft. and houses a congregation upwards of 5,000 people every weekend over 4 services.
KNH Sawatzky & Associates provided the structural engineering for all 3 additions to the original 36,650 sq. ft. building. Additions were built in 2007 (22,350 sq. ft.), 2010 (60,000 sq. ft.) and in 2016 (22,100 sq. ft.) for a total new area of 104,450 sq. ft. Structural components include a structural steel frame, concrete foundation, concrete main floor structural slab and driven pre-cast concrete piles.
The building now houses a 2,033 seat main auditorium, a 750 seat simulcast auditorium, a chapel, youth ministry area, training facilities as well as a complete food service/dining area. A 3,840 sq. ft detached Distribution Center was built in 2015.
